We all have dreams, responsibilities and situations that are our own-but every day there is an opportunity for us to become a little better and help someone along the way.
The "why" can be the simple things like working hard to give our family a good life or encouraging that one person who is battling depression or working hard to encourage a child to learn something new or just being there for someone in our life. We think that our purpose must be an incredible thing and something that is very "big" to really make a difference, but sometimes just the smallest thing you do for someone could be the greatest thing they need. We keep working because we have someone and something worth fighting for. There are days we get tired and feel like we've had enough and then the "why" hits us and we get the strength to keep going.
That could be money to give you comfort, but it can't always give you the fulfillment that you need or it could be achievement that makes you so proud, but it doesn't always give your life "meaning".
I truly believe our purpose has to do with what we do with the time and talents we've been given. We weren't just put here on the earth to take from the world, but to do something to it as well. Even our mistakes and some of the difficult seasons we go through can teach us lessons to help us grow and help others.
Maybe we don't always know exactly where this life is taking us. That's okay. Purpose is revealed as we walk through life, learn from our experiences and pay attention to what really matters.
So, why do I keep going?
Because there is still something worth becoming, someone worth helping, something worth creating and a future worth reaching. Life isn't always easy, but a whole lot easier when you have a "why" and an understanding of what's worth living for.
