When I first ventured out in to online dating, I would never have guessed that jealous fits would play such a significant part in my relationship. I first experienced it towards some people in the first 1-3 years of my relationship, not everyone though. I guess jealousy comes at the part where someone else is interested in the person whom you truly love. You will experience jealousy when other women like the guy in your life and when I did so, I truly went out of control of myself over my guy with these women.
My overthinking, emotional behavior and constant self inflicted scenarios always became a thing where there was not truly anything worth being worked up about; Looking back I realized the major role of fear played a huge part in my jealous ways. The fear of actually losing someone whom you absolutely treasure, insecurity within you on what can potentially happen…
luckily the constant reassurances from my boyfriend somehow slowly managed to get me pass this issue that had gotten deeply rooted within me. His words, actions and persistence has slowly gotten me to learn that if there is no trust in a relationship, then it is doomed to fail. When you decide to be with someone; you're choosing to trust them, you cannot control what each individual does, who he is with, nor how each situation will turn out, you can only believe in the foundation that you both have built together.
However, with everything, I also experienced jealousy of his time and his career. While I craved more of him, he was only seeking from me to understand that career plays just as significant a role and although I spent a long time fighting with him andarguing over the fact that spending time together proved of love; he was simply trying to prove a point of trying to build something for our future and soon enough I realized he was right. Love isn't about spending every single moment together.
Some of the time, you may not even realize that it goes by. Career, passions, responsibilities, dreams all seem to suck your time out, and when it starts interfering with your relationship that doesn't necessarily mean it doesn't want or love you, and you don't always have to assume.
Jealousy, from me is a combination of love and insecurity, love because of the fear of loss but insecure due to the idea that it can really destroy what you are trying to treasure, that it means holding onto someone very tightly and with fear whereas loving someone is about really giving them space and the trust that he will always come back.
In the end security arises from trust and communication and assurances instead of control.
