What if I were able to replicate myself – to create another body, and to transfer all of my memories and experiences into it. If that were a reality, you can bet I’d be willing to take advantage of it. The initial concept might be shocking and even repulsive because the other me would look identical, it would have my memories, everything. However, it also presents the possibility to complete some of my lifelong aspirations, of unfinished business.
Given enough of a transfer the clone would know my childhood experiences, my family, all of my frustrations and triumphs, my flaws, my childhood dreams I cherish to this day. My twin would understand the faces that hold my heart and the reasoning that drives every choice I have made. Essentially, he would be a version of myself living a continuation of the very same, narrative arc.
The primary function and purpose wouldn't be simply replacing me but furthering my legacy - my goals that range from establishing the foundations for a secure future through smart business ventures and investments in property and a tangible business to establishing something that could ensure my loved ones were secure no matter the outcome.
I would love the opportunity to do more; my current body just can't keep up with my lofty list of objectives! A Clone would grant me the ability to do so and pursue all my many goals in unison.
My clone could assist in extending my reach by tending to certain matters that require an attentive focus – while the original self could attend to the affairs of others who rely heavily on one’s presence. He and I would exchange knowledge and glean lessons from each other; in so doing accomplishing an exponential sum amount of output. It would also be fascinating to see, given a unique opportunity such as this, what choices an identically oriented mind (with my stored thoughts and recollections) would undertake.
Still, the thought may also lead one to ponder Whether or not memories alone are what make the individual.
How do we distinguish one being from another?
My clone may look like, remember like me- but our individual choice-making abilities would inevitably lead our lives in varied directions.
The greatest, underlying meaning that this question yields is that in the absence of this capability we each already have the capability to achieve anything worthwhile within the current reality! This lesson reminds me not to put my life on the perpetual back burner with a delayed fulfillment. I choose to be and have become deliberate and judicious in my use of present life in order to love those nearest and dearest to my heart, and to invest fully in pursuing the very life that I aspire to have. Thus I will undoubtedly create another clone, but solely not in fear of death, rather to maximize a multitude of positive impact and impact through this limited time I am blessed to live!
