Everyone of us needs motivation to continue to live and embrace life. Motivation is somewhat similar to your purpose in life. If you have no purpose or motivation in life, then the life you are living is meaningless.
Motivation answers the question Why do you wake up each day? What are the reasons why you work hard for?
Before I got married, I am a happy-go-lucky type of guy. Since I am the youngest of 8 siblings, my needs and wants are provided by my parents and siblings. I wake up very late and everything is in place. My food is prepared, my clothes been washed. Things changed after I got married. Ours is an unplanned marriage. We got married because my wife got pregnant. But, I don't have any remorse whatsoever. I am thankful actually because when I got married, I became responsible. I learned all the chores which I haven't done before at home.
My first motivation is my Family. I want to provide them with everything they need, if possible, wants included. Having only one full-time job cannot guarantee that I can give it to them. That is why, I do some other jobs to add to our monthly income. As much as possible, I want to save enough so that I can guarantee that whatever happens to me, God Forbid, my family can live a comfortable life.
My next motivation is to save for my children's education so that no matter what course mu children wants to take, be it an expensive course like Medicine, I can afford to send them. I want that when they go to school, it is them to decide what course they will take and I want to make sure that poverty won't get in their way.
My next motivation is to have a car. This has been our plan in the past 2 years. A car is not considered a want anymore but already a need. I am working to realize this because we only have a motorcycle to use when we travel. My child is growing so time may come that we won't fit in a motorcycle. Also, I want to have a car so that if we travel during rains, we won't be wet and if we travel at high noon, we won't be burnt by the sun.
Finally, to be able to help others. Like the lyric of a song Tayong lahat ay may pananagutan sa isa't isa. I want that, in my own simple way, I will be able to help them.
