There is no such thing as a perfect marriage. The couple who agreed to get married are not perfect in the first place. Because of this, arguments or fights may emerge.
Fights and arguments are not bad for a relationship. As a matter of fact, it is essential for the relationship to thrive and become healthy. But, it is not necessarily the fight that makes you both stronger. It is what takes place after the fight.
During our wedding, the officiating priest told us the secrets on how to make your relationship working and I will relay it to you as well.
Make God as the center of your family. To have a harmonious family, it is imperative that God is the center of it. When a problem arises, ask for help from Him. Let Him solve the problem. When you feel like giving up, ask guidance from Him. Let Him be your motivator. We may not see Him, but He is always there ready to listen.
When you have a fight, don't end the day without fixing it. When you have a fight, talk it over and fix it. Do not sleep until both of you are back in good terms. Arguments that are left unattended to can be detrimental to your relationship. So, as much as possible, don't let a day pass where you have anger in your hearts.
Make healthy conversations. When you arrive home, forget about your work problems. Leave it at your workplace. Then talk with each other about the things that happened to your days. Silly talks can also make your relationship strong.
Don't just understand your partner. Take her wholly, imperfections and all. During our wedding vows, we are asked not do you promise to understand but do you accept. The reason why this is the way it is being asked is because, believe it or not, everyone of us has hidden attitudes that we tried to hide from our partners. When we were not yet committed to each other, we do our best so that our partner will not know about our bad traits because we are afraid we may loose him/her.. We show only our good side. But days after the wedding, our true color emerges. So we are made to promise that we will accept whatever repulsive character our partners may have. If we are only made to promise to understand their repulsive behavior, then I doubt if you stay together for a month.
There are still many things out there that helps you keep your relationship strong. But for us, these four worked. I hope we stay this way or we become more stronger as time elapse.
