In 2014, I went on my first trip to Sri Lanka.
This was my second attempt to visit this wonderful country. The first attempt ended, not having begun. The day before the flight, I went to the hospital with pneumonia.
I took the guide to drive us all over Sri Lanka. Without having time to settle in the hotel, our guide took us to meet the dawn near one of the most inelier places in Sri Lanka-Sigiriya.
Sigiriya ("lion's rock") is an amazing plateau, rising 370 meters above sea level in the heart of Sri Lanka.
In the V century BC. e. King Kassapa built a fortress and a palace on a rock.
Europeans learned about this place only in 1907.
Whole families of monkeys are guarding Sigiriya now.
This place is striking in its scope and beauty that you can see by climbing to the top.
