Hello Hive!
Hope you are well and safe ❤️
I struggled with choosing a topic I could talk about. Then my partner got tested positive for covid and... It reminded me about modeling project I did exactly a year ago with my fantastic friend and photographer Gary who is not part of Hive but I do recommend checking his Instagram!

Modeling is something I really love because I enjoy expressing myself thorough it.
It's liberating and brings so much joy to my life.
However, this specific photoshoot was not about bringing joy. Our goal was to show how 2020 left for almost every single one of us.
We all felt trapped and uncomfortable, not fully in control of our lives.
Me and Gary wanted to show the concept by doing a photoshoot with a real barbed wire. Showing the pain and the discomfort (That in fact was very real, the pain was there, the discomfort was there, it was an experience! Please don't try it at home, you can really hurt yourself, I cut my skin pretty badly but in the end it was so worth it!).
I don't think modeling should be only about pretty people with pretty make up and pretty clothes. Modeling should wake up certain emotions in us, it's a form of art and as any good art it should make you feel things (ha, literally!)
I hated 2020 and 2021 wasn't that much better really, covid is still a thing, we still trapped.
That's why the post still feels valid.
It still makes me feel things.
So I hope it will have an impact on you as well.
It's funny how we thought we can bend the wire easily, it was a proper nightmare!
It's harder than it looks like, it is sharper than it looks like as well.
When Gary approached me with the idea I was straight away on board, as I'm his go to weird model, he knew I will be happy to do anything that's different and maybe a little bit crazy.
Worst thing is the whole time we did this photoshoot I had this annoying allergy going on, so I just prayed inside I'm not gonna sneeze. The wire would legit pierce my skin if I did!
I really hope 2020 will be just better, easier and more ours.
I felt like we were robbed of 2 years of our lives.
We lost so many people, so many people have long term side effects from covid.
Many didn't get help with other illnesses on time because covid ruined the NHS.
So many businesses got affected, so many self employed people got f**** over.
Please be kind, please understand we are in this together.
Vaccinated or not, they are your friends and family.
Be patient, be loving.
Don't hate, we don't need hate nowadays.
We need unity and power.
Best way to break people down is by the old technique called divide and conquer.
Don't let that happen.
