i've never really understood the view that gaming is laziness without any benefit. one, creating an engaging game takes a lot of skill, and two, playing games involves skills that are useful in all areas of life: pattern recognition, rules assessment, problem solving, body coordination.
gamification, or making problem solving fun, is going to take us to interesting places in the next few decades.
