Wouldn't it be nice if we could embed not only the videos from the platforms that don't like free people (Youtube)?
Why encourage Youtube use when it is hurting free speech? I have a list of sites that give publishers the ability to share video content other than Youtube here but which ones will get embedded automatically on Steemit.com, SteemPeak.com, and Busy.org, PeakD.com, or hive.blog?
Now, I have two viewers of the blockchains. One https://www.steemfiles.com opens both Steem and Hive posts but is not a complete one. The other one at http://test.steemfiles.com:8080 is complete but a modified version of Steemit's source code. In the following table you'll find how all of these sites compare in displaying embedded videos, embedding the URL for the embedded video. The word 'no' indicates they don't handle the URL nor the embedded code and 'both' indicates that either the plain URL or the embedded code will show up as an embedded code in the table.
| Site | Modified Steemit | Steemit | Steemfiles | SteemPeak |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 3speak | embed | no | url | no |
| bitchute | both | no | url | no |
| brandnewtube | embed | no | url/refuses | no |

| ulti media | no | no | both | no |
| vimeo | both | both | both | yes |
| youtube | both | both | no | url |
| Site | Hive.Blog | LeoFinance | Peakd | Ecency |

PeakD is particularly strange in that everything between the Bitchute until the D-Tube examples doesn't get displayed.
Right now these are Vimeo and D-Tube have embedding on all of these platforms. Three-Speak is on hive.blog and PeakD but not the Steem based ones.
This is a test to see whether your Steem or Hive viewer will embed these videos.
Although when I open these sites I see it English in English some or all of these sites may present a different language according to your language preference settings of your browser.

You might be surprised to know that this text and the Bittube, and Brightreon sections are invisible on PeakD.

There was no option to get Embedded HTML for videos on Tubi as of October 2020.

These sites are populated by Youtube links:
Last.Fm, Music Me, Latido Music, Last.Fm, Con TV, Ace Showbiz,
Slack Time, Sky Rock, Contact Music, vagalume is just YouTube links.
These do not show an English language version. English being the go to language for international communication means they are probably uni-lingual.

Automatic embedding for all of these video platforms will make whatever website that implements them more attractive for both publishers who wish to embed videos and readers and readers that will view them. This acceptance will help video sites get more viewers from YouTube.
Since my post a few months ago, I found Rumble.com and Ultimedia.com.
