I have been seeing a lot of this bubble tea store in the valley lately. Almost at every places and corner, they can be easily found. A new bubble tea shop was also opened in my locality recently- just like 3 weeks before. I never knew the name of this drink as it was not readily found in the past days. I thought it must be cool and refreshing drink and hence I decided to taste it for the first time. The drink first originated from Taiwan and it seems to be a popular drink there in Taiwan, just like an indispensable part of their life. But the surprising fact is that Thai people consumes more of this tea than any other nation. Philippines ranks second and other south east asian countries follows them. However, the popularity has flourished almost to all parts of the world and can be found easily or made easily at home.

I was confused looking at the menu and wasn't very sure which one to order. I never looked before how this drink look like and what would be the best flavour or toppings to add to it. Without further hesitation, I decided to go on with strawberry flavoured bubble tea. I was with my friends and they decided to go on with vanilla flavoured. So how do I feel about this drink? It was an iced tea where there were tapoica pearls at the bottom. So combined with milk, tea, flavoured syrup and the pearls, the drink is really sweet and refreshes you just like soda do. The straw from where you sip the drink is big enough to pull the tapoice pearls from the bottom. And this is the main part that I loved. I loved the tapoica pearls. The name which I have never heard of until I drank it and fell in love with its taste.

The tapoica pearls taste like a jelly and a chewing gum. It is a great source of iron and calcium. So is beneficial to your bone. I think this drink is good and beneficial if consumed in a moderate amount but is unhealthy if it is made a daily habit or consumed in excessive amounts. Since it is a sugar-sweetened beverage, it contains more calories. Would love to have this drink again in somedays: I don't want to make it a usual habit :).
