Boudhanath is a world heritage site enlisted by UNESCO in 1979. This stupa is a centre for Buddhist people to worship like Masjid is for Muslim people and Church is for Christian people. Its construction was done somewhere around 14th century by a Tibetan king Songtsen Gampo. That's why until today, many Tibetans came to Nepal to visit this stupa.
The spire of stupa was destroyed due to massive earthquake on April 15, 2015 however it was re-built quickly with a massive donation from other countries.
