As human beings, it is natural for every man and woman to have expectations about various things, people and circumstances; whether it be about desires, dreams and others... I read there that these correspond to beliefs about the future, where in some way we anticipate what may happen.
In our existence we will always be expecting in one way or another about some things, since the expectation is that belief of the person where a specific behavior will allow him to achieve a certain result. In a certain way, expectations influence motivation in an important way since they serve as mediators between the context and the subject's action.

I am struck by what this phrase from Earl Nightingale (American radio personality, writer, speaker and author of several books) says, since it emphasizes that a good part of what happens to us in our journey through life corresponds to what is part of our understanding of the world and how we behave through our attitudes in it. On the other hand, expectations go hand in hand with motivation, as I mentioned before, based on the theoretical foundation that motivation is determined by people's perception of what they expect in certain situations.
This is certainly part of that something or those things that add a powerful force to our existence. From the moment we move forward and grow in each stage of our lives we have situations in which we try in some way to meet expectations; for example, as children to meet these expectations with our parents and teachers at school, as adults in terms of work, friends, environment and relationship as a couple; but very constantly our own; it is that first of all our own are the ones that should have importance beyond always wanting to please others. Being able to satisfy them rewards us with the feeling of achievement, makes us feel so good, satisfied, with increased self-esteem, enthusiastic, motivated and with more energy for everything that comes.
A continuación, algunos consejos:
Expectations have their power to influence each individual; therefore, we must know how to manage them since humanly we make expectations about everything, situations, events, moments and people... Mentally and emotionally we can get the idea that everything and everyone will move in our favor, to what we so desire, long for and hope for, when in reality there are so many uncertain things in life that if the opposite happens, disappointment, discouragement, feeling dissatisfied and even upset inside can occur. I think that many of us have experienced that disappointment in life, or visualized how we saw the panorama with the most colorful colors and suddenly the whole landscape became cloudy (so to speak), as well as placing people on a pedestal and then with their actions, boom, they fell from there! Well, we have to experience those experiences to continue growing, learning and maturing in life. Here are some tips:
Don't let expectations make a movie in your mind that can dominate your thoughts.
Be careful when assuming! Don't take something for granted.
Accept that there are things that no longer depend on us and we don't have the power over everything to make them turn out the way we want or expect them to.
Accept that whatever happens, occurs or may come, in some way may or may not meet our expectations. Be very clear about this!
Don't cling anxiously, eagerly and stressfully to expectations and ideals, learn to live in the present with what is presented to you today.
Keep in mind that not everyone is going to like you or please you, so many will not act or behave as you expect; that is, their actions will not always be those that please you.
There are things and situations that no matter how much effort you put into them, will not turn out the way you expected.
To close this content, I want to tell you that talking about HEALTHY EXPECTATIONS is to put your part on some issue; that is, to give the best of yourself and be clear about everything previously shared in these lines, is to be in the position of being realistic and prudent in what you think, say, do, act and react. Do not make your expectations barriers, walls and stumbling blocks that prevent our healthy progress in life. In life everything must have a healthy BALANCE. Thank you for your minutes of reading, until other notes that make us reflect and lead us to fullness in our walk.
