TEXT IN ENGLISH
We are all wounded, broken in some way. That's how we go through life, trying to make sure that others never hurt that scar, but we always fail in the attempt.
We are frustrated beings, the greatest obstacle is generated by the growing lack of love, which is the worst pandemic that has plagued humanity throughout the centuries.
We try to solve our lack of companionship and affection, searching with a magnifying glass or binoculars for the right person, the one who will make all those wounds heal forever and give our story a happy ending. But it's not that simple.
The real problem is not loving someone else, the issue is that we don't love ourselves, and when we do, it is not a healthy love. We oscillate between lovelessness and narcissism. Where should we look for the root of the problem that causes this widespread suffering?
The answer may seem simple, but it is not. The great cause of all human tragedies and dramas is fear. Fear is the opposite feeling to love, its most radical antithesis, although in this sense there is another that is also very harmful, which is forgetfulness.
Fear generates emotions and feelings that keep us from loving others and ourselves. To mention the most common ones: envy, mistrust, jealousy, paranoia, resentment, lack of empathy, neglect of self.
The big mistake begins because society educates us to look for solutions to problems outside ourselves, and that is a big mistake. We must first stop and breathe, trying to look inside ourselves and see our inner miseries.
But not to criticise ourselves or to use force and fight against what we see, but to forgive, to understand where those fears came from and to have mercy. That means not to attack ourselves with that incessant inner dialogue that is so damaging to our self-esteem.
In short: the great love of life is ourselves; if we do not love ourselves, it is impossible for us to love others around us. This is an obvious and universal truth that we find it difficult to understand.
