While organizing old disks, I found some photos taken this time 7 years ago.
I was visiting my friend in Milan. She showed me around the city in the morning. It was all good. Our next schedule was to visit some museums in the afternoon. But then again... all the sites we visited were closed either for holidays or constructions. I thought it was a joke. But unfortunately, it wasn't.
We were now lost in the middle of the city, dazed and exhausted under the heat of the sun. (I recall the temperature was well above 30ºC.)
The next hour, we found ourselves on the train to Como, Italy. We just bought tickets to Como on a whim. Everything happened so quickly.
Why Como?
Well, first, my friend had been there so she knew the way. Second, that train was the one arriving soon. Such a perfect timing! (Yes, we wanted to make something, at least one thing, to be "perfect" that day.)
Here we were in Como!
Actually, I hadn't heard of the place before and didn't expect much. Hmm... My first impression was that the buildings looked rather ordinary. So what could be special about this town?
In a minute, I was amazed by the spectacular view before my eyes. We kept walking along the beautifully shining lake.
The weather was a little cloudy in the late afternoon, but that didn't keep us from enjoying this scenery.
I began to see why people would love this town so much. Everyone and everything in this town seemed to enjoy themselves. So still and peaceful. No one in hurry, nothing to worry about.
This spontaneous trip to Como was very special and memorable, more than any other trips. Things were perfect even without any careful plan in mind. I miss those days so much! We just did as we pleased. Perhaps, I've been staying in a seemingly snug retreat so long that I forgot how to try new paths...
Enjoy your day, dear Steemians.
