You are Worth Fighting For

If we value something or someone, we burn to protect, nurture and take care of it or that special person.

And if we value freedom, we talk about it; we practice it; we educate others about it; we pursue it.

And if we value respect, we model it, we talk about it, we expect it.

But....if we remain silent and ignore something we disapprove of, we fail to honor ourselves first.

We do not honor ourselves first when we simply ignore others who violate our principles.

We do not honor ourselves first when we simply ignore what's said or done that is offensive to us, and just pretend it does not happen - Speak up!

We do not honor ourselves first when we allow others to decide for us.. Say, "NO!" if we must.

We do not love ourselves first when we do not accept our successes and failures equally and when we do not embrace our imperfections.

When was the last time you told yourself, "I love you and accept you no matter what."
