Parenting is one of those things where, one minute, you think you’ve got it all together, and the next, you’re knee-deep in some new drama. Seriously, it’s never a dull moment. I haven’t had a proper night’s sleep in what feels like forever, all because of my baby’s latest drama. At first, I thought it was just teethingeasy, right? I bought the teething gels, the soothing drops, the pain meds, and you wait for it to pass. That’s what I thought, anyway.

So I went all in, I got the whole teething medicine. I thought if I just kept at it, we’d see the light at the end of the tunnel. But after two days of using everything I could think of, there was no change. She was still cranky, still awake at odd hours, still upset, still running temperature. That’s when I started to wonder if maybe it was something more than teething. And, of course, as a mom, you start to feel that little knot in your stomach when things just don’t add up.

I decided to take her to the doctor, just to be sure. After checking her over, the pediatrician confirmed it wasn’t just teething, it was actually a bacterial infection. Talk about a curveball. We started treatment right away, with antibiotics, and I’ve been on that journey ever since. It’s been tough, though.

One of the hardest parts has been cleaning her mouth. Honestly, it’s like trying to tame a wild animal. Every time I try to clean it, I get a bite, and let me tell you, those baby bites? They hurt! But here’s the thing, as a mom, I pushed through. Even when it’s painful or exhausting, I do it because that is just what we do. I do it because you know I will help her feel better, even if it feels like a daily battle.
There have definitely been moments when I’ve felt like I’m losing the fight, those late nights, the frustration, the tears (from both of us). But at the end of the day, being a mom means showing up, even when things get tough. It’s not always easy, but when I see my little one starting to feel better, it makes it all worth it.
Parenting doesn’t come with a handbook, and it’s not always glamorous. It is messy, tiring, and, sometimes, downright frustrating. But there is also so much love, so many little victories, and so much strength we don’t even know we have until we’re tested. It’s these moments, though it is hard, that remind me how much I’m willing to endure because my little one needs me. And honestly, that’s all that matters.

Thanks for checking on my blog and have a wonderful day
