Kiara and I went to Comic Con this past weekend with her friend Kerry and Syd. I’ve always wanted to go to the one in California and it’s still on my bucket list, but for now I’ve had to settle for one in South Africa haha!
We got there very early and it was pretty hot and we were already quite hungry so we settled on some Portuguese chicken prego rolls with French fries as a side.
After eating we went exploring to view everything, it was great! I am extremely impressed with the set up and level of production that they put on for a convention of this size.
We browsed through all the stalls which consisted of tattoo artists doing tattoos, illustrators doing live drawings and selling their artwork and paintings. There were stalls selling Marvel character themed merchandise such as back packs, patches and clothing etc.
I’m big into figurines and they had some amazing ones from metal statues and photo realistic ones of Wonder Woman and the mandolorian and Grogu.
We went over to the Funko Pop store which had a massive queue and we waited about 30 min to get inside. I didn’t see any ones I wanted but Kerry bought a few such as the mandolorian, pikachu, stitch, grogu and obi one kanobi.
There were so many people who dressed up in cosplay and they had a big cosplay competition on the main stage of the best dressed outfits and some of them were amazing! We also took a few photos next to statue displays or people in costumes such as Mario.

At centre stage there was a competition - cosplay the people dressed as Spiderman were copying famous Spiderman memes
It was definitely a cool experience and I’m even more keen now to experience comic con in the USA now!
