On Wednesday, I walked around the rice field area. There was a group of swans swimming in a small watering area. I tried to get close and took some shots.
Swans are not a popular poultry breed in Indonesia because there are only a few people who breed these water birds. The consumption of swan meat is also low. I have never tried the swan meet either.
Swan in the Indonesian language is Angsa. The white swan is called Cygnus olor. Most people in Indonesia breed this family.
Swans are monogamous. They live together with their spouse for a long time, or even until they die. Ohhh it is a sweet love. 馃槏馃槏
Swans are herbivores. They are also called "aquatic birds" because they spend most of their time swimming in the water. They also eat some water plants and roots in swamp areas.
The male and female swans will protect their little swans from attacks. It is different from ducks. Ducks are polygamous. They also do not care their ducklings.
Though, swans are herbivores, they also eat small animals in the water. A female swan will lay 4-8 eggs. The swan will incubate the eggs until they hatch, which will take approximately 34-35 days.
