How to make lontong or rice cooked in plastic bags.
| Put cleaned rice in plastic bags | Tighten the other edge of the plastic bags with a candle |
| Pierce the plastic bags with a small stick to make holes | Put the rice in a boiling pan until all the bags are soaked |
| Boil the rice with 5:30:7 Formula | The Lontong is well done |
Put the cleaned rice in small plastic bags. Cover the other side of the plastic with a candle. Make holes on the plastic surface with a small stick to let water enter inside the plastic. Boil the rice in the plastic bag in a boiling pan. Here is the secret technique to making quick and efficient lontong.
The formula is 5:30:7. Boil the rice in the plastic bags for 5 minutes, starting with water that is 100 degrees Celsius, or boiling point. Turn off the stove and let the rice inside the boiling pan for about 30 minutes. Do not open the boiling pan. Finally, boil the rice in the pan for the second time. This time you should heat the rice from the boiling point for 7 minutes. Turn off the stove and let the water inside the pan become warm. Take out your toughened rice in the plastic bags from the pan.
Fry 250 grams of peanuts until light brown. Grind with a hand grinder or an electric grinder. I used an electric grinder because it was faster.
| Fry the peanut | Grind the peanut |
| Take out the ground peanut | Put in a small pot |
2 garlic cloves, 25 grams tamarind, 1 teaspoon salt, and 100 grams coconut sugar, ground to a fine powderAdd a little water. If you need a hot taste, you can add chillies.
| Grind the spices | Add ground peanut and a little water |
Mix the ground peanuts with the spices.
It's time to start making the Ketoprak!
Slice the rice bag or lontong into pieces, add steamed sprouts, slices of cucumber, and tofu, boiled vermicelli and add a boiled egg that has been cut into two parts. Pour in the peanut sauce, add a little soy sauce. Don't forget to add kerupuk or crisp snacks to the ketoprak. The ingredients above can make five portions.
