I didn't put this in my last post about our visit to the Montmartre district in Paris, but of course my sister and I stopped for a coffee that morning in one of the many delightful little cafes in the neighborhood. It was one of the first things that we did when we arrived to the area but I'm posting about it a little out of sequence I guess. But I can't resist posting in the Cinnamon Cup Coffee community when I get the chance so here we go.
The place that we stopped at was called Le Bimbo, which I believe translates to The Babe. It's kind of a funny name for a coffee shop but I think that it also becomes a bar at night, so with that in mind, the name seems a little more fitting.
The cafe was located in a nice little crossroads on one of the streets below the Sacre Coeur Basilica. It was surrounded by narrow streets heading in pretty much all directions, as well as by restaurants and shops selling clothes and various sorts of food gifts. It was a good place to sit and watch life pass us by and different people go about their business. We had lunch a little later on in the day right in that same plaza. Actually it was just across the street at an Italian restaurant. You can see it in the photo above. It's the one on the corner.
Le Bimbo cafe was decorated in a common Parisian style, with round table tops and nice little colorful chairs with a woven wicker pattern on them. I've come to permanently associate such chairs with the city of Paris. In my mind those types of chairs will forever be known as Parisian chairs. The inside of the place was sort of tiki-like if im remembering correctly. I don't have any photos to look back at unfortunately.
I liked the color scheme of the terrace, with it turquoise blue chairs and menu and glasses and the contrasting bright orange flower accents on the table. The decor gave off a nice fun and lively feel about. Definitely good vibes.
We sat out on the terrace and had a light Parisian breakfast that morning. For me it was a café crème, fresh squeezed orange juice and a croissant. My sister had a cappuccino with crêpes and Nutella.
I really miss freshly baked croissants and fresh squeezed orange juice from France.
There isn't much more that I can say about Le Bimbo Cafe or our experience there, other than it was a nice way to start our day in the Montmartre district and a fond memory of of my time in Paris with my sister.
