Young Arno followed Elise, stole an apple, and hid from guards, only to discover his father was murdered. Thirteen years later, older Arno fought to reclaim his father's watch from two brothers. After a parkour chase, he returned home to the De la Serre estate.
I spotted someone else nearby, a little girl who seemed to be luring young Arno along, so I followed her through the crowded area. During the chase, Arno bumped straight into an individual who immediately ordered the nearby guards to halt us, but I continued pursuing the girl.
I noticed a few fresh apples on a table in a garden area and decided to steal one. A guard likely spotted my action, forcing me to quickly break the guard's line of sight to establish a last known position. I successfully evaded the guard and hid in the shadows.
Once the area was cleared, I needed to speak with the girl who was named Elise, and she had arrived at the estate alongside her father. While the two children stood talking, screams echoed through the halls.
They assumed the guards were simply searching for them, and Arno expressed guilt over stealing the apple, believing the commotion was his fault. We ran toward the alley where Arno's father had left him earlier to investigate the noise.
Arno checked his pocket watch and noted that it was time for his father to return. Upon reaching the crowd, he discovered his father lying dead on the cold pavement. The sudden trauma caused the watch to slip from his hand and smash against the ground.
A concerned bystander urged the boy to step away from the tragic scene, recognizing Arno as the dead man's son.
Thirteen years passed following that dark day, and Arno was fully grown, though he still carried his father's broken watch. A man confronted Arno to claim the watch, asserting that Arno had lost it during a game, but Arno refused to hand over his treasured keepsake.
The man's brother, Hugo, managed to swipe the watch, forcing me to give chase through the crowded streets. I needed to tackle Hugo while sliding over and under five obstacles along the route. I successfully tackled Hugo and reclaimed the watch, but the angry brothers immediately gave chase.
I executed a series of fast parkour moves across the rooftops and streets to escape the brothers without getting tackled by them or stopped by the local guards. After shaking off the pursuit, I made my way directly to the De la Serre estate.
The angry brothers caught up with him at that exact moment, claiming Arno had stolen the watch, though Arno insisted it was a simple misunderstanding.
Monsieur de la Serre, the man who had taken Arno in after his father's death, stepped outside to diffuse the situation and instructed Arno to wait inside the library.
When Monsieur de la Serre joined him, he instructed Arno to head to the market and escort Elise. Hearing her name made Arno happy, as he realized Elise had returned, though he knew he was not permitted to see her directly just yet.
Arno simply asked Monsieur de la Serre to send his best regards to Elise before completing the memory, which concluded the Memories of Versailles.
