Demons and Fairies

I started this series 5 years ago a full sketchbook of these designs. Some of them were fully realized, and some remained as sketches. I used a Rapidograph (rapid pen) to convey my message and emphasize the concept behind these pieces. The concept mattered more to me than the design itself.

It's the narrative of a land where demons and fairies live side by side. The demons dominate that place, and the fairies are more in the role of victims it's a forced coexistence. To protect themselves, the fairies always try to stay out of sight.

But the final scene is where a great confrontation takes place between them, and the demons show that there will never be peace or tranquility between them.
Is a fairy a role? Does the demon have an external/physical existence?

Anyone who is on the margins of power is a fairy even if, physically, they are not a fairy. They don't even have an identity, and they have been forced to play the role of no one. The land and the demon become one, and the fairy remains separate. This solitude and separation is her survival.
