Watching out for myself and a fellow lady is one thing I learned from my mom who is a nurse. I usually can't go out without a bag but I usually have just lipstick, a comb, my phone charger and probably candies but I learned to add two things which turned out to be the most important things in my bag as a lady.
We went to a child naming ceremony of my uncle in Lagos and while were dancing to the praises, mom called my attention to a lady who was slightly stained beside me. It seems her monthly flow showed up unexpectedly and that's one of the embarrassing moment for any female.
The lady was definitely younger than I am and I felt bad for her. My mom opened her bag and gave me one sanitary pad, she signaled with her head and I just tapped the lady. I whispered into ear and squeezed the sanitary pad into her hand.
I saw the worry on her face as she left the place to take care of herself and I didn't see her till the end of the event.
I asked my mom why she was going about with sanitary pad and she said that our monthly flow cycle might change unexpectedly and it will be embarrassing to be caught unprepared especially in public.
The incident made me include at least one sanitary pad in my bag if I am not expecting my flow anytime soon and more if my flow is in a few days. The one I carry around before my flow is for an emergency, I am always willing to share with female who is in need of it.
Another thing I carry around in my bag is a drug use to ease cramps. I do have menstrual cramps so I usually have it in my bag to help myself or any lady that needs it.
I have helped at least two people with the tablet and was happy that I could be of help to them.
Aside from my regular stuffs, these two things are very essential and I can hardly go out without them. I do remember them like my phone and I always encourage my mates not to just go about with makeup and charger because of the unexpected.
