today i was volunteering as EMT on the ambulance when a 60 years old man called us for suddently and severe chest pain
we arrived on the place, do an EKG and diagnosing a STEMI (miocardal infartaction) and we administered protocol drugs (aspirin, nitrogliceryin,Morphine and O2)
DURING the transport to the STEMI facility (an hospital specialized in myocardial infartaction) the man start saying he is going to die
i reassured him, all the parameters was stable and there was no clinical evidence of sudden cardiac arrest.
he said that he want me to tell his wife those exactly world
"the most things i regret is that i haven't meet you before"
i told him "stay calm, you will kiss your wife again shortly"
ten seconds after my worlds the man lost counscioness and went in cardiac arrest, we try everithing to resuscitate him but we can't done nothing
the man DIED before the arrival in E&A department.
i don't want to write too much
the story tells himself
i am already thinking "what about me? what is my biggest regret? does it makes sense to think about it before the moments come?"
what do you think about that?
