What to say?
Well, maybe I can start by stating that at least this is not as embarrassing as introducing myself in person.
I think it's different, at least. On a larger scale, for sure, but it should be harder to self-inflict embarrassment on written words.
Words that I can erase, right?
Right, except I can't; My keyboard is broken.
But I've already started, so I'm not giving up.
I can say that I strongly believe that great things cease to happen by the simple and recurrent lack of trying. That's why I started reading and then writing.
Not that I plan to pursue a professional career as a writer. I'm passionate about literature, yes, but I hate the idea of turning something so liberating and enjoyable into work.
I was addicted to Netflix. Who wasn't at some point? (I know, right!) But I was ABSURDLY addicted. I began to read, then, as a method of abandoning that addiction, even doubting it would work. And now? Well, now I have decided that my children's names will be Fitzwilliam and Elizabeth and if I have a pet it will be called Gatsby.
But I swear! I'm not as crazy as I sound!
I like all genres. I love Rick Riordan as much as Nicholas Sparks and Stephen King. And what I write?
Simple. I write the way I think and see the world, integrating them into situations that I have not gone through but that would prove my convictions (or defy'em). Not all the words I type are mine, I'm inspired by everything around me, including the way of thinking of others, or at least as I notice it.
I write my ventures, camouflaged in more interesting and elaborate occurrences, I write what intrigues me in life by adapting in a story. Here, I'll write my opinion of other stories, and maybe a few tales. And why do I do that? Why did I even start?
I do not know and perhaps I'll never find out, but I think the suspense and the surprise, just like the excitement of living in the dark, are what makes life beautiful
