Hive is far from perfect but much better than what it was and certainly better than the old platform. As far as the blind curation trail voting, if the larger holders didn't do that, they would vote the same 10 people they read everyday to much higher than now since they can probably just drop $100 vote one each of them and be done with it so and nobody can read 100 blogs a day. That way the distribution is spread out better all over the platform not just the same 10 all the time.
If you are not happy with the content and want something more intellectual , how about write something more intellectual and encourage others to follow suit or otherwise it's just whining, you have the power to shape things however you like around here by being an influencer. The whole idea is social media where people post their own content. You may not be a fan of it but it's not copy paste from the internet and their own stories so it's a win.
Sure sometimes the trending page can feel like an echo chamber with things always around the corner, well it sounds better than we are bleeding users left right and center and it's a good morale boost for the community. Things are actually getting better as far as users if you look at activity charts, we are slowly on the way up.
There has been a lot of development securing the chain itself and optimizing speeds and lowering costs where most of us will not see these upgrades but they were necessary because when we had 100k+ daily active users it got all bogged up. That has to be done before opening the gate to many new users or it makes it unusable for everyone, quite important actually. Now that's pretty much complete, they can more to developing more on the front ends and apps to make it more fun ad attract users, some projects are getting near complete. The Leo front end is working and I saw an thing about the travel community looking to hire devs so obviously something on that front is in the works there too. I'm sure there are more. Nobody is deluded, we know we are far from mainstream adoption but doesn't mean this place is crap, it's just barely built yet give it time. If people don't share their works on other social media and there is no advertising, hard to attract people.
