The thing is here, it still is blamed on all white people aka colonizers in general and the ones that were sympathetic to the cause don't care anymore because they are getting accused of something them or their families were never responsible for in the first place simply based on being white, that's kind of racist in itself so the cycle here just never dies and the hate on both sides just chugs along. Why I ignore the racism mindset. Not that I refuse to acknowledge it's existence, I just refuse to give it any attention or power. I agree in 2021, the failures are self inflicted and not from a handful of people who's been dead for ages. To be fair tho in Canada, the genocide in the residential schools went on until 1996 so it's still pretty fresh and somethings are still going on like the missing and murdered indigenous women and girls but unless you are the missing and murdered these things shouldn't stop anyone from infiltrating the system and spreading awareness in an intelligent way and doing well in life.
I will make sure to say that on your departure if you ever visit Canada 🤣
