Attaching racial-differences to oneself as a reason for not doing well, succeeding or whatever isn't ever going to help - Sure it might get a government handout but the flipside of that is the resentment others who don't get it may feel, and so the cycle continues. Blame failure on oneself, not someone from 100 years ago who called great grandma a name.
