I used to try to help newbies when they arrived but 90% couldn't even be bothered to reply to any comments ever so I saw that as a sign to just move along. If anyone ever ask for me to take them under their wing I gladly would but I have a tendency to not want try to help people that don't want to help themselves so I don't go seeking out who wants it. Why I don't know so in the meantime I just write and interact and think of ways to get more people on here and get them to stay.

So the idea behind the experiment with my posts on facebook, I joined some photography communities where we just all share our photos, and I include a link to hive in the photos and write a blurb mentioning the full story in the link and it's catching on and does get engagement in those communities. Nobody is asking questions as of yet since I'm new to them but overtime seeing the links over and over again and establishing my rank , they already do the photography and that's half the battle. Slowly getting into conversations, they realize they could be doing this too for their own page. It could start a new snowball trend. The photography community here is more supportive than those on facebook so in return leading to better user experience for them while enhancing the one they re already on instead of losing interest and putting all their expectations here while all the front ends get built.

You might not think it will change that, a person that intends to abuse will abuse no matter what you give them. Having a larger # of legitimate users with financial incentive outside of the platform to maintain a certain standard helps counteract that as in more eyes to spot it and stake to remove rewards if needed. It keeps shitposters on mainstream platforms. Invite the masses in as in the quick burst I was referring to, they may not have the original intention to shitpost, maybe they just want to read and then suddenly they see all these people making money and say hey I want that too so there begins the abuse. By keeping them out and only attracting the content producers from beginner to veteran that will keep the community standards but what is a bunch of writers with no audience? A: Hive.

And that's the problem right now, we are all writers but lack the audience, ads will help incentivize people to get that audience outside of here as well to spread the word. By offering them a means to earn by bringing their content to their audience instead also serves as free advertising for Hive as the content circulates around and gets shared in mainstream platforms, those who want to try their hand at creating will naturally come without being shilled. If a user has a million followers on a recipe page that many users might store in their favorites and use it monthly. Isn't that a lot of ad clicks and views of the platform over time? That same content creator will share the recipe once a month for eternity because of the short attention span and high turn over, they can keep their old work relevant. Why can't they benefit from that value? Why can't Hive benefit from that value? They might have a hard time to make it here because the networking dynamics are different. Doesn't mean they do not benefit the platform. Most of the the value isn't in the content creation, it's in the content consumption. Right now, we are only taping to a small portion of our potential on content creation while forgetting the other side of the equation entirely.

Hive will grow old but we need change asap before the numbers keep dropping. They want to cut the reward pool to give out 1/8 th of what it gives out now. I say the problem is not too much inflation it's not enough users. We find a way to turn this ship around asap or we will all be making 1/8 th of what we make. Pick one.
