Well it didn't just happen at the fork, it's been a slow drain before hive even came to be. I think as the world of cryptos simmered down the number of active users continued to go down. By the time Hive came to be, the numbers were already pretty low. to be honest, it sounded complicated at first but I found it pretty easy to use and I'm not the most tech savy either. I'm glad to be part of history being made as well. Early bird gets the worm I guess! Now looking at steemit since the split, it's a desert, there isn't much activity there, Hive is much better.
