This is where I'd like to be today. The drive isn't bad from Los Angeles. Maybe around 1 1/2-2 1/4 hours depending on the traffic, but once you get here... It's amazing.
You drive up onto the pier to park your car. There are a few little touristy shops where you can buy candy and souvenirs. People are out on the water or on the pier fishing. You can rent a pole and bait from what I recall.
The best part is the seafood and eating it out on the pier with a cold glass of beer, while taking in the sea air and the mountainous view on the opposite side of the coastline.
This is the California, I love.
