The last days on the boat have been great. Flyin’ Low is going up for sale. Spent the night a few weeks back, getting her in shape and looking good for potential buyers.
The last time I went, just for the day, to swap out water moisture absorbers, and spruce it up for a showing on Thursday.
The water was choppy and the wind was blowing. Waiting for the guys to take me out, I watched a bird flying around ready to dive into the water to catch his breakfast. I was on the phone when he actually decided to take the dive so I missed it. But here is a glimpse at his graceful gliding.
Once on the boat, tasks complete, a little sun, photo taking, and a short scan video of the blue water and warm Florida sun, I breathed in the warm salt air.
I was picked up and taken back to shore. I waved goodbye to the Palm Beach Sailing Club and Flyin’ Low for who knows how long…? As long as it takes to sell her? As I drove out of the club, I gave two sailors, from Los Angeles, a ride to a local restaurant. They said they were interested in looking at the boat. We’ll see.
So long, for now, open blue waters, full sails, dolphins, warm winds and rocking one to sleep, nights on the boat. I’ll miss it, until I get to return. It’s been great.
