So, as you can see above, I have quit vote-following (Thanks @ats-david for your excellent curation to this point) and I am going to see what changes occur. Probably none. I need to stop voting so much because my vote power decays a lot faster now.

PS:

I was naughty running a witness without keeping my ear to the ground and I missed the v0.19.0 update, and my witness died. I also read through the destructions and there is a couple of things I can set in the build that make replay a lot faster, so hopefully it will be up and running before the end of the night. As a veteran of computerey things, I am skeptical but such changes would be most welcome. And I promise to pay attention to the chatter and developments closer.
