You cannot, for example, use steemit.com to delegate steem power. Vessel may be pre release, but it works perfectly, and make's steemit.com's 'beta' tag look like a great big old fib. It's still alpha grade. Betas have all the features exposed in the interface. I'm pretty sure, even, that beta literally means 'we put all the bits in but we aren't sure it's bug free yet'.
So as I have mentioned in recent posts after my discovery that the interface suppresses downvote visibility, well, that's a pity, but kitty does not pull random numbers out of the air about how to decide who to put her little scratches on, she has the Catabase.
We will be making a daily report of the high achievers of Steem through her account, as well as the statistics broken down into brackets of steem power, plankton, minnows, dolphins, orcas and whales. The data will be of course fully verifiable by anyone with the inclination to check.
Not only that, maybe certain whales with a history of fondness for those little red flags will oblige kitty with some more horsepower, after all, if they aren't powering it down, then they can do this, and they either do, or don't take direct credit for doing this, as she totes up serial self voters totals, her votes will start to make dots appear on the post flags.
We don't know who our allies are until we lead the charge. So the charge will continue.
As for those of you who think a little bot with 1200 delegated SP is a 'bully' and that such teensy votes from a tiny account are 'flag abuse', I beg to differ.
We will let the community decide what is abuse, what is not, and what demands a hard fork to change something. It is our position that self voted comments, 99.99% of the time, amount to upvote abuse. No argument can justify a rule for you, and another rule for anyone who wants to use downvotes to signal disapproval, or to reduce the diversion of rewards to these comments.
The only rules on the blockchain are the consensus code, and limited by the interface, as to what functions you can access. We call this behaviour abuse because it is both antisocial, and as the data will either confirm or deny, detrimental to the community as a whole.
No minnows under 1000SP will be harmed in this experiment, and the rest of you will not even notice what's going on. But the data is all there, even on the blockchain, marked for easy reference.
https://steemd.com/@smackdown.kitty will list the stream of self-voted accounts names and their comment URL, all neatly packaged, and every witness and RPC server will be mirroring this data for us, as well as the MongoDB that 
I have decided, that since the complacency of those who are very attached to their ability to cause their nether regions to become cleaned, and off they run with SBD a week later, that I am not declining payouts any further on posts about this. I will, when my resources permit, instead be continuing to invest my SP into increasing her capabilities.
By the way, to the people who are so certain that we mean harm by this, I had been so long away from Facebook, that I forgot, due to the absence of significant, essential social network functionality of user blocking - and this is a beautiful irony, it was ME who got the mute functionality working on steemit.com. You can find it deep in the archives if you look, at github, or here on the blockchain. I campaigned for that after getting flagged down to reputation ten in september last year. It is the beautiful thing about networks. You can just filter out crap. That's why they invented firewalls, for the digital equivalent of your engagement with me.
I've been putting myself under far too much pressure this last few days. But I'm not 'debating' with people who don't recognise the difference between judging behaviour and Ad Hominem attacks. It's a tricky one for most people because it is sorta 'normal' to call people who you think do stupid things 'retards' and it's maybe not helpful.

No sense in reinventing the wheel. And I should stop avoiding node.js - just because I don't like dynamic typing does not mean I can't write code that also suffers from these flaws, I should rise to the challenge.
