There were some shocking moments shared on social media in 2017, but none flew around the world as quickly as the moment a sea lion grabbed a girl and dragged her into the water.
Sitting on a pier in Canada, a young girl and her family probably expected their day to be pretty uneventful.
But as they watched a sea lion, both the girl and the animal got a little too curious about each other, and the sea lion leapt out of the water, pulling the little girl in.
Luckily a quick-thinking tourist jumped in to rescue her, and both he and the young girl walked away unharmed.
