This is just a general observation, but this weekend ranked has felt a lot more competitive! They tightened up matchmaking, so Mythic players should be getting matched up with fewer Diamond players. That definitely is contributing.
Here's the thing, though. I actually lost my first game and it demoted me to Diamond. I thought, "Well, at least now it should get easier." It didn't. I don't know if that is because all Mythic players got demoted if they lost their first game, but meta Genesis decks were everywhere! I went 2/6 on Friday (in Diamond!). I'm currently 9/13, but every single game has been close. For the last few weekends, I got lulled into complacency seeing all kinds of odd F2P decks that were (usually) easy wins.
For me personally, this weekend has felt a lot more like what I would expect a weekend tournament to feel. If that's holding true for everyone else, then the devs have knocked this out of the park. I'm also really glad they lowered the first leggy pack to 15 wins, because I probably won't make 17 this weekend!
How's it going for the rest of you? Noticing the same thing?
For my part, I'm saving the rest of my games for Sunday. Hopefully, I'll face more people finished with WR and doing the flux wheel with fun/weaker decks.
