Went out for a walk in the woods this weekend and was very excited to find very recent Beaver evidence in our stream. This busy beaver had one dam built in the fall, but has now turned that into two dams and two little ponds on the stream. Truly a relaxing, Sublime Sunday for me. The weather warmed up to 55 degrees F (12C).
This first tree was HUGE. There's no way he could drag it away, not sure if he was just wearing his teeth or if he is planning to gnaw off all the limbs, but this was a fairly recent tree fall was not down the last time I was back this way in Dec/Jan.
Several other tree's cut and pointy stumps left.
Here a picture of one of the ponds. the flat white at top is all frozen pond on top.
Here is second pond with a little waterfall off to the far side where the water is going around the dam.
Some additional gnawings out in the middle of the stream. The water is so clear and fresh this time of year with the melting snow.
Another big tree, at least 4" around, but this one not near the stump. Holy cow, it must've drug or cut this one up.
And a little video of the little waterfall they created around the side of the second dam. The sound is even better in real life. I could sit here for hours enjoying my Sublime Sunday.
