Today is Sunday, the day of the Lord. Indeed, worship and praise is befitting to God for all he has done for us, all he is doing and all he will continue to do for us.

In this same mood of worship and praise, I wish to present a musical piece. It is a worship song by the Nigerian artist, Frank Edwards. It was sung in a serene manner and the singer sang using English and Igbo Language.
Igbo language is the native language of South Eastern States/tribes of Nigeria. Although there is a central Igbo language, many variations of Igbo language exist among the different tribes and culture.
My guitar cover focuses majorly on the Chorus of the song. Instead of the serene style the artist used, I used the Highlife Genre.
Highlife is a music genre that started in present-day Ghana in the 19th century. It describes multiple local fusions of African metre and western Jazz melodies.

Well, although Highlife began in Ghana, the South Eastern part of Nigeria has also adopted its unique style of Highlife. 😉 We have our top Highlife artists like Osadebe, Oliver D'Coque and a host of many others.
I played along with and around the Chorus with the Highlife beat and progression created by a wonderful Nigerian Guitarist (I can't remember his name).
I hope you enjoy the piece and get to love the Highlife genre. I hope to upload more of the Nigerian Highlife Guitar style, so that you'll begin to love this musical genre and also add it to your list of favourite musical genres. 😉
