So, last Saturday we had our hangout as usual, and it was just so much fun that we did not want it to end. We are currently on the third topic for this week, which is “ANONYMOUS”.
But before we proceed with the details of the topic, let us take a look at the winners of the last topic, which was “BIG BOYS DON’T CRY”.
This topic was geared toward each member of the community, sharing their thoughts with us on many men choosing not to be emotionally vulnerable, and instead bottling it up. In a society that encourages men to be more vocal about their struggles, there also seems to be a punishment when men express them.
We got to see that indeed, there are different ways to look at this. Many support that men shouldn't be seen expressing weakness and vulnerability, and such things should be done in the privacy of the home. Meanwhile, others agree that men have to be more expressive because it’s only when they’re open about their feelings that they can know for sure how to help.
For this topic, we went through every entry post, and that is every post with the #hl-exclusive & #hl-w203e2 tag. And with the number of wonderful posts out there, it was quite difficult to make a selection. But eventually, we did just that. This author told us that the existing system has groomed men to seldom cry, but this should not be so. She believes that regardless of gender, everyone should be able to express their vulnerabilities without any fear of backlash because in the end, life can happen to everyone, regardless of gender.
*For this author, he told us that through history, men have always had to be the stoic and steadfast ones, but things are changing. He doesn’t think a man is weak when he cries, and the world has evolved to the point where acts of supposed weakness are looked into for understanding rather than just outright condemnation.”
WHEN MEN ARE ALLOWED TO CRY by 
For this author, he talks about how society sees men who cry as weak men and punishes them for it. Everyone deserves to be vulnerable and to have a moment of weakness. Thankfully, times are changing, and people are getting more learned. The definition of weakness is now being revisited.
