Vir is one of around 300 islands in the Zadar archipelago in the Croatian Adriatic. The most famous attraction on Vir is the Venetian fortress Kaštelina, built in the early 17th century. The Venetians built it to protect the people of Vir and Nin from the Turks who were advancing into the area at that time. Part of this fortress survives.
I actually didn't like Vir Because the houses were built haphazardly, and sometimes the streets are quite narrow.
I was surprised that only 30% of the island is build up.

Towards the evening the ruins glow in the sun as if they were made of gold.
