Hi there Steemit!
I actually joined about a month ago, but never got to posting anything, because you know, life and such.
Well, today, all of that changes!
I'm a 27 year old software engineer living in Cape Town, South Africa. I hate long walks on the beach and I don't like anything in particular. Actually there are many things that I don't like. I know what you're thinking, but I'm not that negative!
So before you label me a party pooper...
Let me explain:
I grew up in a town where the status quo was pretty fucking bad. Basically if you didn't play rugby and didn't enjoy talking about how big your muscles are - you would have had a bad time. Fitting in was an everyday struggle. At least until I learned that you don't have to.
Luckily, my parents were quite weird, in a weird sort of way, and I was fortunate enough to meet some of society's finest rejects early in my life. Basically, to cut a long story short, I took LSD when I was 16, got into software and hacking, played shit loads of video games, read many books, and slowly peeled away all of my preconceptions about life!
But I'm not here to sell you a Glomail product, or to declare that I have everything figured out. No. I'm here to tell you about what I have learned on my journey thus far, and to share some unique perspectives about life. And also, of course, to learn about you.
Over the next couple of posts I will talk about specific things that have happened in my life, like losing both my parents when I was 19, dropping out of university, and as you get to know me better, I hope to bestow upon you some knowledge that will help you on your own quest. I think you will come to see that I have lived a very unique life.
Don't worry. I know some of this sounds like it's going to be depressing. But remember, as with all things in life, there is always good and bad, ups and downs. I promise you, the tale will be worth it. Plus, I will do my best to make it as entertaining as possible for your enjoyment :-P
You see, we are living in a very exciting time. The truth is being exposed and innovation is spreading faster than 'they' would like! For the first time, I really believe that we can start making a difference. We can change the world.
After the initial (not boring) posts about my life, I will share some of the things that I really enjoy. I will talk about and analyze music from my favorite band Tool, share my personal experience with getting into cryptocurrencies and my thoughts on decentralization, talk about games that I like, and I will talk about Wikileaks and other exciting things that are shaping our reality!
But, what I'm most excited about is to tell you about my ideas. And also to hear your ideas!
So here I am extending my virtual friendship to all you fellow Steemians! Excelsior!
It's time for the revenge of the nerds!
