American experts on Artificial Intelligence have been working on an artificial brain called Sentient in secrecy since 2010.
@kralizec and subscribe to my Youtube channel at Kralizec Gaming Youtube ChannelDocuments which were first informed about by The Verge describe the computer and the AI describe it as a fully integrated intelligence system capable of coordinating satellite positions and could be soon usable to control combat operations during military clashes.
While this certainly sounds interesting it still really isn't that much information. And government bureaucrats aren't willing to answer any more specific questions like what is Sentient capable of. Karen Furgason from the National Reconnaissance Office said only that it catalogs normal patterns, detect anomalies, and helps forecast and model adversaries potential courses of action.
The NRO's and the Intelligence Community's standard practice is to not disclose sensitive sources and methods, as such disclosure introduces a high risk of adversary nations countering them, said Karen Ferguson. This and probably other reasons is why details about Sentient are kept secret.
Theoretically, it is even possible that Sentient is already working. But Karen Ferguson is claiming that it is still in development. But in 2013 there should've been a significant milestone but sadly we don't know what the milestone was.
