"Proof of Stake" as a consensus mechanism is very young and I think it must still prove itself. "Proof of Work," in my opinion, is far more balanced and will be able to correct itself to ensure a fair distribution. I am not convinced yet that "Proof of Stake" can do the same. Currently, it looks like "Proof of Stake" is centralizing power in whales. But time will tell.
