NASA has made a fun game. It is a simulation game where game users can ride the SpaceX Crew Dragon and dock it at the International Space Station (ISS). The name is Rocket Science: Ride to Station.
The game is available on the web ( https://rocketsciencec2e.ksc.nasa.gov/ ) and via the iOS app. You can select a spaceship and indirectly experience the actual launch and docking process with crew selection by mission type. It's not a very realistic flight simulation game. Ideal for training to learn the process of docking to a space station.
So I played a game.
Start screen. Click the mouse to start the game.
First, you can choose the capsule in the front of the ship. Starliner and crew dragon. Starliner was created by Boeing and Crew Dragon by Space X. I chose Space Crew Dragon.
Then select the mission to perform. Chose biological action in zero gravity. Consider that there are unique skills for each mission.
Choose a crew member to board. The important thing here is to have a 'skill' according to the mission. There are three small icons at the bottom when selecting a mission. This is a necessary skill. You must choose a crew member with this skill to proceed to the next level.
Next, you need to assemble the rocket. Simply drag the left part and insert it to the right. However, if the part does not fit in the correct position, it cannot be assembled. Assembly is not difficult because there are no missing parts.
It is the long-awaited launch moment. The way to fire is very simple. Just press the Go for Launch button on the right. The countdown then proceeds and the rocket shoots up.
Fly high and high.
It also shows the way to the ground. This graphic assumes a camera mounted on a rocket. Pretty plausible.
Then press the button to separate the rockets step by step. The part to be docked to the space station is a capsule part, so it must be removed. And I'm looking forward to the docking moment.
Here you can operate in manual and automatic mode. The red circle on the front is where the capsule is facing. To dock in the center, you need to turn this red circle into green. At first, I changed it to automatic mode urgently because of manual operation. Otto is the best.
Pounding moment.
If the dock is successful, a message will appear saying Welcome to the station. And it is the end. Mission success. It seems that this process took about 5 minutes. It's hard to think of it as a general game. But it seems nice to be able to learn a variety of information by launching and docking a real rocket at least once. It's also a good idea to play when you're bored. The trick is that loading takes longer than playing time when playing a web-based game.
