Hello again, my coffee loving friends. Today, we're going on an adventure again with my good friend, Yodin Zaku. However, this time, I will introduce you to the whole team instead of a single one. I realized that it would be better for me to show my thought process and how I prepare for the battle one by one when I queue. I rearranged the order of the segments in order to be much closer to how I decide what to do and what to use when I get queued with my opponent.
This is the link for the battle. Click here to watch the entire replay.
First, before deciding the team, I check the rule sets. These are the sets of rules which we need to follow for this battle.
In this battle, up to 38 mana are allowed.
In this batte, and all elements are allowed.
You can see other rule sets here .
Since the rule set does not allow any melees, the choice is in between magic and range units. With Yodin Zaku as my partner, that choice is very clear. I tend to use range monsters with at least 2 damage, if possible. According to this website, "Additional damage is equivalent to main damage divided by 2, rounded up." That means any 3 damage will become 2 Blast damage. It's just a matter of firepower from here on out.
Also, I try to use a lot of monsters with Close Range ability. They allow me to attack with range monsters while being on the front.
I also intentionally did not use Lava Launcher on this battle. Learning from my mistakes, he takes up a lot of mana but little health. Lava Launcher is very vulnerable to magic damage so I instead used more monsters as blockers instead of one big monster.
In this battle, I used the summoner Yodin Zaku and monsters Molten Ash Golem, Lava Spider, Goblin Fireballer, Blood Maker, Firecaller and Tinderlock .

Round 1 was a big game changer. By the end of the round, I got the numbers advantage 6 to 3. Lava Sniper's Snipe killed Merdaali Guardian, the opponent's Tank Healer and inflicted blast damage to both Djinn Oshannus and Venari Spellsmith. A few turns after, Venari Spellsmith and Water Nymph also dies from the Blast damage.
I got worried for a second when Azmare Harpoonist ended my Motlen Ash Golem's life followed by Sea Stalker destroying Goblin Fireballer with a Snipe. I got a bit of a payback when my Tinderlock killed Djinn Oshannus so I still get the upper hand at the end of the round.
Since the opponent's next monster is Azmare Harpoonist, a range monster, this means he wouldn't be able to attack while being in the front. This somewhat assured me of my win as long as my other 3 monsters won't continuously miss their attacks for the next two rounds.
Fortunately, the game quickly ended on round 3 after Blood Maker and Tinderlock killed Azmare Harpoonist and Sea Stalker, respectively.
