" I had rather have a plain, russet-coated Captain, that knows what he fights for, and loves what he knows, than that which you call a Gentle-man and is nothing else. "
- Oliver Cromwell

Coral Wraith is an Untamed unit that is really strong because of its unconventional Sneak method. Sneak are generally melee attacks so to counter this, players tend to add armor using Protect or summoners like Kelya Frendul.
Coral Wraith is unaffected by this counter strategy since Coral Wraith has magic damage and magic damage passes through armor.
All of these also applies to Captain Fellblade being the other Water unit that has Sneak magic damage.
It has been five years since the legions of Chaos conquered the Splinterlands, and every day that passes, the legend of Captain Felblade continues to grow—both in size and scale. The truth is…
…well, the truth doesn’t matter, now, does it? What matters is that the stories of Captain Fellblade will live on, as will the hope of those that believe in them.

| While I see that a level 1 copy of Captain Fellblade is expensive for a $5.42, it all depends on your perspective. Some might see $5 as quite a hefty sum for just one card but for those who truly appreciate the value and potential of magic attack with Sneak, they know a bargain when they'll see one. |
| My coffee loving friend, a mere 2.09 DEC per day for such a strong card? You should consider yourself lucky to have stumbled upon such an opportunity. With that card in your collection, you'll be near unstoppable. You can even combine it with Coral Wraith and abuse the Sneak magic's potential. If you are on a higher level, you can rent a level 3 for 9.50 DEC per day. |
| A card with 8 mana is not cheap, but rest assured that its power is worth every mana. With the magic damage and speed stats, it is a card could turn the tide of any battle in your favor. You can even use it as a mini Sneak blocker for its 6 health, although it would not take long before it dies. |
Sneak |
An attack that passes through armor and cannot miss sounds like a true game changer. With such an ability, your opponent will have nowhere to hide. It would also be hard to block considering Protect abilities and such does not have any effect against magic damage.
Strengthen |
While Strengthen doesn't sound strong, it's still a good addition for the rest of your team.
| The Sneak Magic attacks bypass armor and Protect abilities making it very strong. In addition to that, it also has another melee attack that works in Sneak as well making him attack twice in one round. |
| Captain Fellblade's weakness lies on her high mana. While Coral Wraith only costs 4 mana for 2 magic damage, Captain Fellblade costs 8 mana for 2 damage. Even though he has 1 extra melee damage, it still isn't enough to offset the high value of the high mana. |
Explosive Weaponry |
Blast activates per instance of damage. With magic and melee Sneaks, Captain Fellblade can also do twice of Blast per round.
Tis But Scratches |
Being able to attack twice per round, one for melee and one for magic, she can inflict the Cripple twice per round as well.
Wands Out |
Since Captain Fellblade has magic attack, you can use it in Wands Out rule set even if she has melee attack as well.
Aimless |
Scattershot only applies to range and magic attacks. Scattershot also takes priority removing the Sneak for magic. This scatters the damage making it harder to kill the enemy.
Back to Basics |
This removes all the abilities making Captain Fellblade weaker. Since you cannot use melee unless in the front, this also reduces the damage of Captain Fellblade.
Counterspell |
Even though Captain Fellblade has Sneak, it's still magic attack and with Magic Reflect, some of it will go back to her if Counterspell is he rule set.

I tried to use Captain Fellblade as a soft blocker for opponent's Sneak attacks. Since they are using Tarsa, it didn't go as good as I imagined.
The team still did well but it might be better to remove Spirit Hoarder in exchange for another Sneak blocker behind Captain Fellblade.
Since I play in Wild, she has more compatible units and summoners as well like Coral Wraith and Alric Stormbringer making her stronger in a lot of ways.
I do hope that there would be a time they would decrease her mana cost because it's too high at this point and even leveling her up does not make up with the high mana cost due to her weak upgrades.
Captain Fellblade is strong but would need to be used in at least 30 mana so you can abuse her with other units complementing her.
