Introduction
Hello, everyone. KonAqua-desu! This is this week's entry on Splinterland's Social Media Challenge, where, as the title suggests, share your experiences and insights in your Splinterlands experience. Enjoy!
This week, I've discovered a strong combo in the form of Cursed Windeku and Thaddeus Brood. They don't have the usual combo, neither complement each other but they counter almost all of the other lineups in Splinterlands. Cursed Windeku deals with Melee while Brood deals with Magic damage, the deadliest line ups in Splinterlands, Fire and Earth.
I did the Death Quest for 5 battles, I won 4 another win by surrender. Here's what happened.
Konaqua122:
Summoner: Thaddeus Brood (-1 Health; -1 Magic to opponent)
Cursed Windeku (Thorns)
Carrion Shade
Death Elemental (Snipe)
Twisted Jester (Snipe)
Mantoid (Snipe)
Hojcu21437545:
Summoner: Thaddeus Brood (-1 Health; -1 Magic to opponent)
Cursed Windeku (Thorns)
Cursed Slimeball
Death elemental (Snipe)
Soul Strangler
Silent Sha-Vi (Sneak)
Dhampir Stalker (True Strike)
These are the Abilities involved in this game:
This is mid mana fight. I focused on using snipers due to what I've seen on other's guides that Twisted Jester is strong. I decided to try it out and he is indeed strong. I might consider buying him in the future.
Battles
Round 1
My Death Elemental dies from opponent's Death Elemental snipe.
Cursed Slimeball dies from Silent Sha-Vi's sneak.
Dhampir Stalker dies on the very last turn from Mantoid's snipe.
Round 2
Soul Strangler dies from Twisted Jester's Snipe.
My Cursed Windeku dies from a hit from the opposing Cursed Windeku.
Opposing Death Elemental dies from Silent Sha-Vi's sneak.
Mantoid dies from opposing Silent Sha-vi's sneak.
Carrion Shade dies from opposing Cursed Windeku's Thorns.
Round 3
Cursed Windeku dies from Twisted Jester's attack.
Round 4
Silent Sha-vi dies from a first attack from Twisted Jester.
Game 4 Win (by default)
Opponent surrendered before the start of the match.
Vietnam08:
Summoner: Thaddeus Brood (-1 Health; -1 Magic to opponent)
Cursed Windeku (Thorns)
Chaos Agent
Death Elemental (Snipe)
These are the Abilities involved in this game:
Since I cannot put both Undead Badger and Death Elemental due to mana restrictions, and I don't want to put either leaving an extra mana, I went with Twisted Jester and he did a good job.
Battles
Round 1
Chaos Agent dies from Twisted Jester's snipe.
Round 2
Death Elemental dies from Twisted Jester's snipe.
Both Cursed Windeku died at the same time from the attack and thorns.
Quest Rewards
After finishing the 5 win quest, I got rewarded with...
I never knew Cursed Windeku was strong. He shines on low mana matches along with Undead Badger. Both has high speed and normally attacks first providing huge advantages. Thaddeus Brood boosts it further by providing -1 health to enemy. Lower mana matches normally have weaker monsters and thorns' 2 damage plus Brood's -1 health significantly executes most of them. Thaddeus Brood also shuts down possible Obsydian Earth builds by neutralizing the +1 magic damage that Obsydian normally provides.
