Life's full of tough decisions and that is exactly how I felt when it came to my Splinterlands strategy. I was faced with a hard choice and came through with it. Unfortunately, there was no way around it and my hands were tied.
The reality was that there were only two monsters with Triage abilities available for my Earth Splinter and both were Legendary monsters. The Lost Legendary rule of combat prohibited their use in this battle. Unless something changed, I was out of options and stuck with the best options available for me.
Legendary monsters are my go-to in Splinterlands but sometimes they can be both a blessing and a curse. In this battle, I found myself unable to use two of my favorite legendary monsters, Spirit Hoarder and Queen Mycelia, for their Triage ability to support Mycelic Slipspawn. It was a crucial moment and their absence made all the difference. That was also what made this battle interesting.
Obsidian is one of the expensive summoners from the Chaos Legion. This is because of how good her extra magic damage is. With a lot of demand from people wanting to use her, then that's the main reason why her price is high.

Obsidian's rental is average at 15 DEC per day but there's always a few ones that keep going off the radar, just like that 7.10 DEC per day rental for the same level. Keep your eye on this as you rent Obsidian as it would save you half of what you would be renting her for that season.

Mycelic Slipspawn costs okay. It's not too expensive and not too cheap. A max level costs you half a dollar less than five which is on a decent price from how much you would use him whenever you can.

His rental price is around 3.24 DEC per day and is good enough to be rented regularly. He is one of my mains in Earth Obsidian build accompanied with a couple of monsters with Triage ability.
Obsidian is one of the strongest Chaos Legion summoner. Her extra magic damage is very strong especially when the monsters on Earth Splinter has high damage as well.
Abilities
+1 Magic. [Stat Modifier] [Positive Status] All Friendly monsters has their Magic damage increased by 1.
Obsidian's extra magic damage is really good in Earth Splinter because of how many useful monsters in there that uses magic damage.
Mycelic Slipspawn's high health is really good since he would be getting all the damage through Taunt ability. With Forcefield, any 5 damage and above will be 1 damage instead. The problem is that he doesn't have any abilities to protect him for any damage 4 and below.
Abilities
At level 1, Taunt is unlocked. [Defense] [Target Modifier] Opponent's monster will be forced to attack this card, if possible.
A good defensive abilities that disables other target modifying abilities like Sneak, Snipe and Opportunity abilities and redirect all that target to himself.
At level 4, Forcefield is unlocked. [Defense] When an opponent attacks a monster with Forcefield, if the damage is 5 or more, it becomes 1.
A simple cut and dry ability. It changes any damage of 5 and above to 1. Unfortunately, the damage is usually around 3 and 4 at max level and this would not help on that.
At level 8, Slow is unlocked. [Stat Modifier] [Negative Status] As long as this monster is alive, all opponent monsters has their speed reduced by 1, with a minimum of 1. Monsters with 1 speed before the effect applies are unaffected.
Since a lot of monsters from the Earth Splinter has low speed, Slow ability would be good on making them and their high damage get to the opponent's first.
Obsidian: Since I am using a team where half are magic damage , Obsidian is a strong pick as it gives my units a lot of boost in damage.
Regal Peryton: He's a strong tank with magic damage. The good thing is that his high speed and Flying ability can make a lot of melee and range monsters miss.
Mycelic Slipspawn: A good defensive monster with Taunt. His high magic damage is also a good benefit.
Goblin Psychic: He's probably the best monster in the whole game. Not only Goblin Psychic has Tank Heal, he got an ability to stop other's heals with Affliction ability, reduce other's magic damage with Silence while dealing magic damage himself, and to top it off, he has Dispel to remove all the positive effects from others.
Scavo Technomancer: I was thinking of having Rust ability since I fought a lot of monsters with Void Armor ability thinking this would help. While my opponents didn't have Void Armor ability this time, it still helped against Goblin Tower.
Supply Runner: Mycelic Slipspawn's Slow with Supply Runner's Swiftness, this gives me good advantage against the opponent allowing my team to attack first and kill some of their monsters before they can act.
Hunter Jarx: I wanted a monster with high damage and he's the only one I got which I got from a pack months ago.
ᗪIᗪ YOᑌᖇ ᔕTᖇᗩTEGY ᗯOᖇKEᗪ?
Yes. The combination of Swiftness and Slow are really good and is the reason why I won. IT was a hard battle since Immortalis's Void ability gives my opponent the defense they needed. I am just glad that I got quite a number of non-magic damage which gives me edge against my opponent.
ᗯᕼᗩT ᗯIᒪᒪ YOᑌ TᖇY ᗪIᖴᖴEᖇEᑎTᒪY ᑎE᙭T TIᗰE?
Nothing.
The reason I would change nothing is because there was no other way around it. There are only two available Triage ability that would be good with Earth Splinter and both are Legendary monsters. Lost Legendary rule of combat prohibits the use of Legendary monsters and unless that rule of combat is not in this battle, then there is nothing I can do.
. I like using legendary monsters. The problem I had in this battle is that I was not able to use either Spirit Hoarder and Queen Mycelia for their Triage ability to support Mycelic Slipspawn.
