Another fun contest from HivePH. This time, we get in touch on our inner Filipino as we discuss our thoughts about Independence which is celebrated during June 12.

What is it about identifying as a Filipino on Hive that makes it worthwhile?
Being a Filipino in Hive is fun as people, for some reason, always feel friendly. Maybe it's the connotation that Filipinos are hospitable which is being reciprocated when you interact with them.
Also, Filipinos are naturally friendly so when you're having problems, when they know that you are a Filipino, they have a sense of responsibility to help you. Not only in Hive but I have a lot of people help me in Discord and other sites when I ask questions or need some help. Filipinos are very helpful and have that sense of camaraderie when they know you are another Filipino.
Actually, a better example of this is found in youtube and not on Hive. I watch a lot of Vtubers and when that Vtuber said anything in Filipino or Tagalog, you can see all the Swagapinos on the chat and comment section. It is the same in Hive. When they know you are one of them, they are more than happy to help you.
What is your ideal Filipino community on Hive?
My ideal Filipino community is a simple one. A community where you help each other through upvotes and comments without expecting anything in return.
It's more like a charity among each other. If you see a post where you think the author did a great job, upvote and reblog it.
It doesn't matter if the author is on another community but if you liked the post, at least reward the deserving author by an upvote.
What's the importance of Independence?
Independence is important as it grants a person their basic rights. Without independence, a person will not be allowed to own anything. To make it a little more simpler, without independence, a person is nothing but a slave.
Without independence, you won't have any form of security. People can go in your home and do anything to you and your family and you cannot do anything about that. No one will help you because they would suffer the same.
Independence is the very foundation of society and the main reason why 7,942,645,086 people in the world can live together.
