For this week, it would be about Keep Your Distance rule of combat. Don't worry. This rule of combat is not that scary as it sounds. It may limit your options but with the number of cards in Splinterlands, you can always find a way around it.

For my solution, it's usually the use of monsters with Magic damage and which build is the best other than Obsidian.

Obsidian is a Rare summoner from the Chaos Legion Series.

Level 8 Rare summoners allow the use of:
Level 4 Legendary monsters;
Level 6 Epic monsters;
Level 8 Rare monsters;
Level 10 Common monsters.

Obsidian comes with a very strong ability that can increase magic attack of all of your monsters. Magic damage is really strong because it can bypass all the armor of your opponents when your magic monsters attack. Magic attacks also cannot miss so you are sure to deal consistent damage on your enemies.

Boasting at 3 magic damage, 7 speed and 8 health, Regal Peryton is a very strong monster based on stats. His high speed and Flying ability are very useful against melee and range monsters while the decent health is very good to tank the magic monsters. To top this off, Regal Peryton only costs 5 mana to use.

Regal Peryton is a really strong monster. Even though it doesn't have a lot of abilities, his high stats, especially, at max level is a good benefit that would earn him the right to be one of your main Earth monsters.

At level 1, Flying is unlocked. [Defense] Non Flying monsters that attack this card has their maximum hit chance reduced by 25% during that attack.

Flying ability is a strong ability that you can use to counter Melee and Range monsters. With this ability combined with Regal Peryton's high speed of 7, you are sure that some, if not all, attacks coming from melee and the range monsters will miss. This was not shown in this battle because I am using another monster that has Taunt that can redirect all the range and melee attacks from any of my monsters to that said monster.

Obsidian: Since I am using a magic damage centric team for this battle, I use Obsidian to increase their overall damage.

1. Regal Peryton: Since I cannot use melee monsters for this battle due to Keep Your Distance Rule of combat, I chose to use my secondary tank, which is Regal Peryton that has good amount of health. The combination of his high speed and his Flying ability is good to deter any range attacks from my opponents.
2. Goblin Psychic: Goblin Psychic is not only a strong support but also a strong monster. It has Tank Heal, Dispel and Silence abilities which is very useful in every battle.
3. Spirit Hoarder: I am using Spirit Hoarder in this battl because of his Triage ability that works like Tank Heal ability but instead of healing your monster in the first position, it will heal the monsters at the back instead.
4. Queen Mycelia: Queen Mycelia has the Protect and Triage ability that is very useful for this battle. The Protect ability can be used to increase your monster's armor against range damage while the Triage ability can help restore the damage from my Taunt monster allowing him to survive for longer.
5. Mycelic Slipspawn: He a monster I constantly use because of the Taunt ability that can protect my entire team. In case my opponents have high damage that exceeds 5, he has Forcefield ability that will change this damage to 1, making him a very strong Taunt monster.
6. Djinn Biljka: This monster may look weak at first because of his very low health but he has the Camouflage ability that allows him to not be able to be targeted by any opponents attack except for those with Scattershot ability. This monster only has 3 mana cost but can dish out huge 4 damage with the help of Obsidian.

ᗪIᗪ YOᑌᖇ ᔕTᖇᗩTEGY ᗯOᖇKEᗪ?

Yes. The main difference between me and my opponent's strategy is that I have the Triage ability to restore the damage from Mycelic Slipspawn. This allowed my monster with Taunt ability to live for longer keeping my other monsters safe throughout the battle.

None. This is my usual go to as a lineup. The only change would be using Runemance Florre in exchange for Queen Mycelia but that will not happen in this battle because of the limit in mana cap.

Obsidian and Regal Peryton in Keep Your Distance Rules of Combat

? 𝑾𝒉𝒚 𝒐𝒓 𝑾𝒉𝒚 𝒏𝒐𝒕?

Yes. My builds are not that affected by this rule of combat because I tend to go to magic damage with Obsidian or Range damage with General Sloan. Both of these strategies require very few melee monsters, mostly, the tanks, which I can exchange with other magic damage monsters.
